I am considering a vacation to Eleuthera. Looking for a villa that would accommodate 4. Would like ocean/beach front with deep water dock or something very close to marina. Would want to rent a boat. Prefer a beach that is great for swimming and snorkeling. I was a long time visitor to the Abbacos. I do not know Eleuthera/Andros at all. Any suggestions for villas or area on island. Thank you.

LouLou - it's not really that kind of island with regards to marina and boating. There are really only two working marinas and they are both in the deep south of the island. Davis Harbour is in Wemyss Bight and Cape Eleuthera has a marina. I believe that Cape Eleuthera is now offering some boat rentals through the resort there called Powell Pointe. You can check with them. We have a couple of places in the middle of the island to dock a boat, but neither one is really a marina. You can rent a boat on a daily basis from a guy in James Cistern, but I don't know of anyone else who rents on Eleuthera. Some of the guys in Harbour Island or Spanish Wells may rent, but, again, it's not a real popular thing. In terms of beachfront house rentals, check out my main website at www.eleutheradirect.com.
